Dr. Andreas Geissler is a German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney and has been working in intellectual property law since 2005.

His technical background includes studies of chemistry with a focus on biochemistry at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. He holds a degree in chemistry and concluded his studies with a Ph. D. summa cum laude from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. His doctoral thesis in molecular cell biology in particular dealt with the mechanisms of protein transport in cells. He published his research results in several articles in high-ranking scientific journals.

Dr. Geissler gained his experience in intellectual property law through many years of work in the industry, and also as a practising Patent Attorney. He has been with Samson & Partner since 2017.

Before turning to intellectual property law, Dr. Andreas Geissler worked in the industry doing research and development for a biotech company, where he concentrated no the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, chemistry, medical engineering, material sciences and process engineering.
