F. R. von Samson-Himmelstjerna is the founder of our firm.

F. R. von Samson-Himmelstjerna has been a German Patent and Trademark Attorney for more than 30 years. He has also been a European Patent Attorney as well as a European Trademark Attorney since the opening of the European Patent and Community Trademark Authorities. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in strategies for the acquisition and implementation of national and international patents and trademarks, as well as in litigation, arbitration and licensing.

F. R. von Samson-Himmelstjerna studied physics, microbiology and mining at the Universities of Marburg, Berlin and Munich and holds a diploma in physics from Munich University with first class honours. His diploma thesis related to a problem in the field of information theory in optics. His main fields of technical expertise are applied physics, biophysics, optics, information technology, electronic control systems, semiconductor elements and mechanics.

He regularly holds lectures on intellectual property law at various national and international seminars for professionals and is active as a court expert at the Appeal Court of Munich. Furthermore, he is the co-author of a manual on mediation.

He is a member of the Association pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle (AIPPI), the Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR), and the Licensing Executive Society (LES) where he has served as board member for 10 years.
